Meet the Staff

The staff at Orchard Prairie is dedicated to serving our students, guiding them to become life-long academic learners while nurturing their social and emotional health. We believe in supporting the whole student and their families, while building deep relationships that last years.

Suzanne Savall

Hello, I have lived in the Orchard Prairie district for 35 years, and was on the school board for 14 years prior to being hired as the Superintendent last year.  I thoroughly enjoy the students, and take my position as the Orchard Prairie Superintendent/Principal very seriously.  My most important job is to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. As I begin my second year in this position, I am disappointed that we are not where we would like to be with the COVID-19 virus, but we have less mandates than we had last year. We are able to begin this school year with ALL of our students, and masks are only mandated when inside the school and bus. Volunteers will be encouraged and field trips will again be a part of our wonderful school program.

In my spare time, I love to ride my horse, play with my Weimaraner dog, garden, swim, and do yoga.

Please don't hesitate to send me an email with questions or comments at ssavall@orchardpriaire.org.

Kindergarten, K-7 Art

kschierman@orchardprairie.org

I have been teaching Kindergarten at Orchard Prairie since 1996. My husband is Mike and we have three kids, Braeden, Teagen, & Rianna. We spend our family time between club and school soccer, LC Drama (the actual stage kind), volunteering in the community, and even fit in a little camping on the St. Joe River with our dogs Honey & Daisy Jane. I love art, and have taught art K-7 at OP for years. My other passion is teaching children to read and write. OP is where my heart is. ️ Seeing students grow up and come back to visit OP is one of my greatest joys!

Janet Isherwood

Reader, traveler, learner, teacher - all words that I would use to describe myself, but perhaps my favorite of these words would be learner. Why? As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Learning never exhausts the mind.” I am blessed to be around children all day - learning new things from kids and teaching them a few new things too. I have been teaching for 30+ years - most of them at Orchard Prairie School.  I began teaching after earning my undergraduate degree from Eastern Washington University. After teaching for several years, I earned my Master’s in Education Degree from Whitworth University. During my summers I enjoy traveling. Destinations in North and Central America, Asia, and extensive European locales are all stamped in my passport!
